
A tripartite meeting was held here today included Qatar’s Deputy Premier and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs HE Ahmed Bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud , representative of the State of Qatar, Mohammed Ibn Chambas, the Special Representative of the African Union and the United Nations and chief of (UNAMID ) and Ibrahim Kamara, representative of the African Union . The meeting stressed the need for internal dialogue involving all components of the people of Darfur , without exclusion or exception , and in accordance with the Doha Document for peace in Darfur, in order to promote the peace process in the region and provide a favourable environment for the implementation of the Doha document on the ground . The meeting was attended by Qatar’s Ambassador in to Sudan HE Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi. Addressing the meeting, HE Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, pointed out that the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur has provided for the Darfur internal dialogue as the basis for the peace process in the region .. He said: “The Technical Committee of the Darfur internal dialogue had met in Doha last March , and reached a proposed strategy to be presented to this meeting.” He noted that the main objective of the dialogue is to provide an enabling environment that contributes to accelerating the implementation of the Doha document on the ground , stressing that this is the real dialogue for peace in Darfur . He said that the beginning of the Darfurian dialogue is essential to renounce all the differences between the people of Darfur. “The basic document of the dialogue is in the definition of the Doha document for peace in Darfur , to develop mechanisms to resolve conflicts, prevent future conflicts , and to promote reconciliation and create a social environment for the voluntary return .”, HE Al Mahmoud added. He noted the possibility of establishing a council for peace and reconciliation in Darfur and the consultations between the people of the region at home and abroad with the possibility of also create a committee comprising the parties that signed the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur . HE Ahmed Bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud said in a press statement upon his arrival at El Fasher airport today that the Darfur peace process was moving in the right track , and that great strides for peace, security and stability have been realized . HE Al Mahmoud is scheduled to preside over here tomorrow, Monday, the seventh meeting of the Follow Up Committee for the implementation of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur . He called on movements that did not catch up with the peace to join the Doha document for the peace process , according to the Doha document for peace in Darfur . HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs was greeted upon his arrival by Dr. Tijani Sisi, head of the Darfur Regional Authority , President of the joint mission of the African Union and the United Nations ( UNAMID ), and members of the state government of North Darfur as well as Qatar’s Ambassador in Khartoum HE Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi.
