Al-Qaeda claims responsibility for attack on Iran Embassy in Beirut

A leader of Al-Qaeda Organization has claimed responsibility for a twin bombing that targeted the Iranian Embassy in Beirut earlier Tuesday. Operations in Lebanon will continue until Iranian elements withdraw from Syria and detainees in Lebanon are released, Sheikh Serag el-Din Zuriqat tweeted. The "battle of the Iranian Embassy" in Beirut is a suicide operation by two Sunni heroes, according to Zuriqat. A well-placed source told MENA Zuriqat had once been held by the Lebanese authorities and then released after mediation by important Sunni figures in the country.
