
Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ramtane Lamamra asserted on Sunday that the issue of Algerians who are detained in Iraq is due to be settled. In a press conference, he pointed out that Iraqi authorities are working on ending the crisis, adding that continuous contacts have been held between the two governments to settle the issue. He also expressed his readiness to visit Iraq anytime to end the detainees issue as well as boosting relations with Iraq. He noted that contacts have been held to prepare for a visit for Algeria's foreign minister to Baghdad, adding that a senior Iraqi official is expected to visit Algeria soon.
