Amano\'s report on Iran\'s nuclear program \"politically-motivated\"

Iran\'s permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Ali-Asghar Soltanieh said Tuesday that the IAEA report on Iran\'s nuclear program is \" imbalanced, non-professional and politically-motivated,\" the semi- official Fars news agency reported. Soltanieh\'s comments came as IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano released a report in Vienna on Tuesday drawing upon Iran\'s activities aimed at the development of nuclear weapons. Amano\'s report is nothing new and it is the repetition of the previous allegations against Tehran, he was quoted as saying. Iran has already answered all those allegations and has proved them as \"baseless,\" Soltanieh added. By repeating the same allegations, Amano disgraced the constructive atmosphere that had been created between Iran and the IAEA in the past months, Soltanieh told the semi-official ISNA news agency on Tuesday. Amano has prepared the report under the pressure of certain western countries including the United States, he said according to ISNA. The IAEA director general has called on Iran to cooperate with IAEA to prove that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes. Despite Tehran\'s repeated insistence on the \"peaceful\" nature of its nuclear program, western countries continue to raise concerns that it will use the uranium enrichment to make nuclear weapons. Recent tensions between Iran and the West over the sensitive issue have raised concerns that the United States and Israel may consider a possible military strike on Iran\'s nuclear sites.
