
Arab liaison officers tasked with examining the planned joint Arab power grid held a meeting here on Saturday, discussing various issues concerning the mega venture. Qatari Public Authority of Electricity and Water, which hosted the meeting, said in a statement a meeting that grouped members of the guidance committee and the work team discussed the sessions' timetable and basis for final negotiations with the legal advisors for securing all documents that tackle the project governing issue. The statement declared completion of all necessary procedures, initiated by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD), with respect of assignment of a team of advisors to examine the venture. The legal consultants were tasked to make, in particular, an assessment of the gas utilization for exporting electricity, in line with the reference terms -- adopted by the Arab Ministerial Electricity Council
