Armenia went into the required pre-election silence at midnight Sunday, the penultimate day before the presidential election.All campaigning is barred by the Armenian central electoral commission for the "day of silence." Seven candidates will compete in this year's presidential vote, which will last 12 hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. Registered voters are expected to cast ballots in 1,988 polling stations across the country. The electoral commission has so far registered 2,505,822 voters. In 2008, 1,632,666 voters cast ballots to post a turnout rate of 69 percent
