Armenia's National Assembly on Monday unanimously ratified a proposal to make it easier for citizens to gain a visa to Schengen countries, the Armenpress news agency reported. All 108 parliamentarians present voted for the bill, the report said. The bill will ease visa requirements for certain categories of Armenians, including members of official delegations, researchers, students, journalists, artists and athletes, as well as for those with close relatives living legally in the European Union. According to the document, the visa fee will be reduced to 35 euros (47 U.S. dollars), with no fee for children and pensioners.
