Around 90,000 African refugees in Yemen

National High Commissioner for Refugees said 90,000 African refugees were in Yemen this year. Last year 100,000 refugees were reported to have arrived in Yemen. The commissioner renewed its call for international community to help Yemen in supporting the refugees in terms of health, education and other services. UN representative Naveed Hussien said in a press conference on Monday that the UN appreciated the humanitarian role played by Yemen to care for the refugees despite Yemen’s economic struggle. He said the media played an important role to convey the struggle of refugees and the need to provide aid for them.
