Two people have reportedly been killed in an army shelling of a suspected militia hideout. Officials in Yemen’s Republican Guard said they bombarded the alleged hideout in the northern Arhab region. Local tribal leader Hadi al-Garmouzi noted that the shelling killed two people, injured others and caused damage. The attack is said to have come despite an attempt to negotiate a ceasefire. Yemen has been plagued by intertribal strife for the past year. The country is currently headed by the interim administration of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, who took over after longterm ruler Ali Abdullah Saleh stepped down a month ago.
