
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton said that she is visiting Egypt now at the request of the key stakeholders in order to talk with all parties and to reinforce the message of the European Union. Ashton said there must be a fully inclusive transition in which all political groups should participate including the group of Muslim Brotherhood This transition should lead as soon as possible to a constitutional system as well as to holding of free and fair elections and the formation of a civilian-led government, She added in a written statement distributed by EU mission in Cairo. The UE official renewed her call for the cessation of all acts of violence, strongly condemned the loss of lives and pointed out that the EU is determined to help the Egyptian people to achieve their objective of a stable, prosperous and democratic Egypt.
