Ashton condemns violent acts in Egypt

European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton condemned violent acts, which took place in Egypt over the past two days. In press statements in Brussels Monday, Ashton said that she followed up the important developments in Egypt and the decision to lift the state of emergency. Ashton, meanwhile, voiced hope that she would meet soon the Egyptian deputy prime minister, according to a statement by the EU Embassy in Cairo.
