European Union’s Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton said that Iran and the Group 5+1 (five permanent members of UN Security Council plus Germany) held nuclear talks in a positive atmosphere in the Turkish resort city of Istanbul. “Our main aim was to see whether we could move towards a sustainable process in the field of holding talks with Iran in order to make sure that Iran fulfills its international obligations,” Ashton told BBC Farsi service in an exclusive interview. Asked about the atmosphere of talks in Istanbul, she noted that she believed that the talks took place positively. Ashton noted that the next round of talks between Iran and G5+1 will be held in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad on May.
