Ashton to visit Palestine, Israel on Wednesday, Thursday

High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton will visit Israel and Palestine on Wednesday and Thursday. Palestinian sources said Ashton will have talks on Wednesday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Justice Minister Tzipi Livni. She will also have talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah, the sources added. On Thursday, Ashton will visit the Gaza Strip and meet Commissioner-General of UNRWA, Filippo Grandi, the sources said. Ashton is currently on a tour of the Middle East region that took her to three Arab countries; Jordan, Iraq and Egypt.
