Police in Assiut have threatened to go on strike to force the removal of their station chief Low-ranking police officers in Assiut have requested the removal of their station head to due to \"his inappropriate behaviour.\" On Sunday, the officers threatened to go on strike and begin a hunger strike if the interior ministry and the Assiut security directorate did not approve their request, reports the Al-Ahram Arabic website. An officer who wished to remain anonymous said they took the action due to the station head\'s \"his inhumane behaviour towards us. He gave our mobile numbers to \'covert individuals\' who observe us even during our holidays.\" Earlier on Sunday, the officers filed a report against the station head with Assiut Security Director General Abul-Qassem Abu-Deif. Among other demands, the officers also called for the people who killed eight police officers during clashes since the January 25 Revolution to be arrested. From Ahramonline
