Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Chairperson of AU Commission, "strongly condemns the cowardly terrorist attack perpetrated today against an Egyptian Police headquarters, which caused the loss of many lives and injured several others," the AU said in a statement. The chairperson "stresses that this attack, once again, underlines the imperative need for the intensification of efforts to combat terrorism throughout the continent, in line with the relevant African and international instruments. "She reiterates the AU's commitment to continue working with its Member States and partners to this end," the statement said. The chairperson "presents the AU's heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured."
