Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) has hosted a grand felicitation ceremony in Dubai to honour 180 minor achievers for their outstanding performance in the primary, preparatory, secondary and university level.

Jamila Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education, Ohud Al-Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness, and Mohamed Alabbar, the Emaar Properties founder and chairman graced the ceremony along with Tayeb Al-Rais, Secretary General of AMAF.

Held at the Armani Hotel in Burj Khalifa, the event was also attended by senior officials from the UAE Federal Government.

In his welcome address, Tayeb Al-Rais, Secretary General of Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, applauded the support provided by the UAE leadership and the Government of Dubai to orphans and underprivileged children in the emirate. Commending the achievements of the students and their high standard of academic excellence, Al-Rais said AMAF’s minors were on par and indeed surpassed the calibre of other students across the country.

He pointed out that AMAF continually works to extend support to minors in helping them overcome challenges and develop as productive members of society. Al-Rais expressed confidence that these minors would continue to contribute to nation-building efforts and shape the prosperity of Dubai and the wider UAE in the years to come.

Referring to minors as the real national wealth of the country that needs to be carefully nurtured, Al-Rais said honouring the high achievers reiterates AMAF’s efforts in cultivating a spirit of healthy competition among students, while qualifying, encouraging and motivating them to accomplish academic and career success.

Al-Rais said, "Optimism inspires hope, hope inspires work, and work inspires success. Today we are here to celebrate the exemplary achievements of these students. We are keen to guide and motivate them to continue on this path until they reach their goal and realise their ambitions. AMAF is resolved to infuse a spirit of positive competition among the minors to motivate and guide them in all stages of their life. We are confident their determination and hard work will empower them to play crucial roles in shaping a society that is largely defined by happiness, quality and excellence."
