Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa presented to Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov editions of the translated publications of the Awqaf Ministry on peaceful coexistence, renewing religious thinking and rectifying misconceptions.
Ivanov, who is well versed in Islamic culture, expressed admiration to the content of the publications, according to a statement by the Awqaf Ministry Tuesday.
During his meeting with Ivanov, Gomaa asserted that renewing the religious speech and facing extremist thinking are top priorities to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
This comes in light of Egypt’s role in facing terror and extremist thinking and spreading tolerance, he said.
Gomaa also agreed with Egypt’s Ambassador to Bulgaria and Macedonia Manal el Shenawy on sending a group of Awqaf translated publications to the Islamic communities.
They also agreed on meeting the request of Bulgarian Mufti Mustafa Hadzhi to send Awqaf publications in Arabic, English and Russian.
Shenawy expressed appreciation to the role of Awqaf Ministry in spreading the right teachings of Islam and rectifying its image inside and outside.
