An Advisor to Al-Azhar Imam for Interfaith Dialogue and Professor at Al-Azhar has denied attacking any political or religious factions or parties. Mahmoud Azab reiterated in a statement his commitment to the vision of Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el-Tayyeb in calling for unity and harmony among the Egyptians. Al-Azhar seeks to promote the moderate image of Islamic Sharia and maintain unity of the homeland, he said, adding that the Family House is the starting point for national dialogue based on Islamic rules. Azab issued the statement after reports attributed to the adviser questioning Al-Azhar\'s role in keeping the Egyptian unity and attacking some political and religious parties.
