
Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb said the women are partners to men in the rights and duties.
"Plurality and diversity among people are stipulated in the Holy Quran, he said.
He called for not judging Islam by some followers who commit killing and genocide crimes.
"Terrorists who commit crimes in the name of religions do not represent such faiths, but in fact, they are traitors," he noted.
Terrorism is condemned by the whole Islamic world, he stressed.
"Muslims and Christians in the Middle East are brothers and have lived together for several centuries," he noted.
"Attacking Christians is a deviation from the teachings of Islam and forced displacement is a condemned crime," he underlined.
