Bahrain attends UN discussion session in Geneva

Bahrain Permanent Representative in Geneva Dr. Yusuf Abdulkarim Bucheeri today attended a high-level discussion session marking the 20th Anniversary of the 1993 Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action. The event was held on the sidelines of the 22nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), being held in the UN Palace in Geneva from February 25 to March 22. Bahrain Permanent Representative in Geneva Dr. Yusuf Abdulkarim Bucheeri delivered a statement on behalf of the Arab group stressing the crucial importance of the 1993 Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action in laying solid legal and institutional foundations for political changes since its inception. He stressed the Arab Group’s commitment to honour their obligations regarding human rights and basic liberties in conformity with the UN Charter.
