Manama - BNA

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa affirmed that the Bahrain\'s human rights record is honourable and that human dignity is protected and rights are guaranteed, stressing that the government spares no effort to support those rights and the institutions concerned with them. \"There is no negligence or leniency when it comes to the fundamental rights of the individual in the kingdom,\" he said, pledging that the development of the human rights system in the kingdom will continue un-wavered in order to guarantee liberties for human beings in Bahrain, regardless of their race, religion or sect, and achieve the principle of equal opportunities for all within the framework of the rule of the law. This came as he received today, at his Palace in Riffa, the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)\'s Chairman Dr. Abdulaziz Abul, Deputy Chairman Dr. Abdulla Al-Dirazi and members. During the audience, HRH Premier called upon NIHR to project to the world the real and brilliant image of the kingdom in the field of human rights transparently, professionally and fairly in order to refute the claims of skeptics and expose liars. He underlined that the kingdom has succeeded in presenting itself to the world as a model regarding its international human rights pledges since it dealt with the human rights issue with exemplary objectivity, openness and transparency. He said that Bahrain opened its doors for all human rights organisations and welcomed their visits in order to allow them to be informed about its compliance with its international obligations, out of its confidence in its honourable achievements in the field of human rights. He warned of attempts by some organisations and individuals to use the human rights issue to distort the kingdom\'s image in order to achieve narrow special and factional ends depending on the distortion and misleading approach which facts on the ground have proved totally baseless. On their part, NIHR Chairman and members lauded HRH Premier\'s support for NIHR and keenness to consolidate and promote the human rights culture and practices among members of the Bahraini society, asserting that the kingdom, thanks to the wise leadership, boasts an integrated legislations and laws that guarantee the best human rights practices.
