A Tax Information Exchange Agreement (TIEA) was signed here between the kingdom of Bahrain and the Nordic countries of Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Greenland.Under the TIEA, which is in line with the international standards on tax cooperation and transparency set by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information, approved by the G-20 , will allow Bahrain and the Nordic countries to exchange taxpayer information. On the occasion, Finance Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa welcomed the agreement, noting that it will enhance economic cooperation and joint investment between Bahrain and the Nordic countries within legal frameworks.
