
The cabinet, presided over by Deputy Premier His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, today welcomed the new round of the National Dialogue, wishing all parties success in reaching the desired consensus, said the Government's Official Spokesperson, Sameera Rajab.Speaking during the post weekly cabinet meeting press conference, the Minister of State added that the cabinet had approved a memorandum presented by the Ministerial Committee on Legal Affairs on the draft law amending some provisions of Decree Law No. (5) for the year 2002.It also endorsed the accession to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, and decided to refer the draft law to the legislative authority, she also said. 1.The Official Spokesperson of the Government said the Cabinet had discussed and agreed on a number of proposals presented by Council of Representatives, including the creation of a tower that serves the government and the companies operating in the field of communications, increasing the number of licences given to driving instructors, modernising and developing Al Hala Club and creating a sports centre for Bahraini women.The Cabinet, she went on to say, congratulated the Minister of Transportation on the great success of the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS 2014), noting that the airshow’s organisation was a success, the number of participants was significant, and many important commercial deals were made in the field of aviation during the event.The official spokesperson added that the Cabinet also congratulated the Minister of Culture on the success of the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition in its new and distinctive form, adding that the cabinet hailed the role of the exhibition in supporting arts and creativity. The cabinet also discussed a memorandum presented by the Minister of Works on tenders that have been awarded or offered, up to December 13, 2013, she also told journalists.The memorandum reveals that the ministry has awarded up to 71 tenders during the year 2012-2013 at a total cost of $ 65.885.618, distributed on the sectors of roads, sanitation and construction, the spokesperson added.
