
The Good Word Society has dispatched 32 tonnes of clothes and blankets to beleaguered Syrian refugees who are facing a bitter winter.A team representing the charity association dispatched the relief-aid consignment which included also 3200 copies of the holy Quran as part of the Quran memorization project.Headed by Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, the Mercy Team (Tarahom) spared no effort to collect donations and other basic needs, including winter clothes and blankets.Team coordinator Maha Al-Turk paid tribute to individuals and companies in Bahrain for taking part in the campaign and extending a helping hand to Syrians who have been displaced and turned into refugees by the three-year war.She announced that the team would continue the charity campaign to dispatch medication, dates and rice to beleaguered Syrians as part of Mercy Project.
