
Minister of Industry and Commerce, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC) Dr. Hassan Abdullah Fakhroo chaired the works of the regular meeting of the Board of Directors of (BIECC), where he reviewed several issues related to its works and achievements during 2013 and its agenda for 2014.At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Hassan Fakhroo valued the support, care and great concern of the leadership and government for the industry of exhibitions and conferences sector in the Kingdom, which contributed in reinforcing its role and contribution rates to the GDP of Kingdom of Bahrain.The minister also hailed the kind concern of HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister for Jewellery Arabia 2013, which achieved exceptional results and a record number of exhibitors, including visitors and total sales compared to the indicators of the previous exhibitions.After briefing the council on the minutes of the last meeting, they discussed the issues on the agenda, where the minister was briefed on the overall financial condition, and the final accounts expected at the end of December 2013, and the council declared satisfaction with the positive financial results achieved by BIECC and its continuity to maintain profitability during 2013.The estimated number of visitors to BIECC’s events during 2013 were about 450,000 visitors. In addition to that, the Council was briefed on the accredited development programmes within the project of improving and developing BIECC.
