Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa today received US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Thomas Melia and his key role in reinforcing bilateral relations. He stressed the ministry’s commitment to develop and modernise all security departments to implement the ministry-related recommendations cited in Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI) Report. He affirmed the commitment of the constitution and law in ensuring protection of human rights through measures that included the implementation of the police code of conduct and human rights training and curricular at the Royal Academy of Police, with the aim of taking steps avert any repeat of the individual violations.
