UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon met with Palestinian National Authority President Abu Mazen (also known as Mahmoud Abbas) on General Assembly sidelines, a UN communique made known on Thursday. The two leaders agreed on the ongoing \'\'dangerous stall in the Middle East peace process and the urgent need to restart the political process towards a two-state solution,\'\' the communique said. They discussed the \'\'extremely worrisome\'\' situation in the Palestinian Occupied Territories and the new Israeli settlements being built there. Both underscored the \'\'vital need\'\' for the international community to provide new aid to the Palestinian National Authority.
