
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon congratulated Saturday Tunisian Caretaker President Moncef Marzouki on the end of the drafting of the new Constitution of Tunisia.“This is one of the major stages in the process of transition started by Tunisia,” Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) quoted Ban as saying in a telephone conversation with President Marzouki.According to a Tunisian Presidency press release, Ban Ki-moon reiterated the support of the United Nations and the international community to Tunisia in this important phase in its history.He also expressed “confidence in the ability of Tunisians to crown their transition process by the establishment of a fair democratic regime.”The telephone conversation also focused on the development of the relations between Tunisia and the United Nations, according to the same statement.
