The bombs that exploded in Bangkok on Tuesday were most likely intended for attacking individuals, Thai authorities said on Wednesday. National Security Council secretary-general Wichean Photephosree told a press conference the materials used in making the bombs were not powerful enough to cause large-scale destruction. Therefore, the suspects were more likely to target individuals. Whether Tuesday's incident was linked to the seemingly coordinated bomb attacks on Israeli diplomats in Georgia and India on Monday was being investigated, Wichean said. On Tuesday afternoon, three bomb explosions on downtown Bangkok 's Sukhumvit road injured four Thais and one Iranian suspect identified as Saeid Moradi, who hurled a bomb at police but the bomb blew off both of his legs. Moradi and two Iranian complices escaped their rented house after the bomb they were making exploded prematurely. The police later detained another Iranian suspect Mohummad Hazaei at Bangkok's main international airport while he was waiting to board a flight to Malaysia. The third suspect remained at large.
