A Bangladesh trucker early Sunday died of injuries sustained after a bomb thrown on his vehicle blasted in Gazipur on the outskirts of capital Dhaka on Saturday, the first day of the opposition party's countrywide general strike to foil parliament elections, police said. The police official who preferred to be unnamed said the trucker Nuruzzaman, 25, died at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital. He said Nuruzzaman, who was whisked off to the DMCH last night, had sustained nearly 50 percent burn injuries. At least two people were dead and three others injured after a bomb was thrown at an onion-laded truck in a northwestern Bangladesh district on early Friday, the third day of Bangladesh opposition's countrywide non-stop blockade. Ex-Prime Minister Khaleda Zia's 18-party opposition alliance has enforced strike and blockade to boycott the parliamentary elections.
