Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan said that Bavaria was very important in the aspect of automotive sector. Centers of big automotive companies are based in Bavaria, added Caglayan who met Martin Zeil, Minister for Economic Affairs of Bavaria, in Ankara on Wednesday. Noting that currently three million Turks were living in Germany, Caglayan said that those Turks owned nearly 70,000 enterprises and a business volume of 35 billion euro, while employing 350,000 people. He added that 17-18 percent of those enterprises were functioning in Bavaria. German investments in Turkey worth 5.2 billion USD, while the worth of direct investments of Turkish companies in Germany is nearly 1.2 billion USD, said Caglayan. Caglayan said Bavaria\'s exports to Turkey was nearly four billion USD, adding that Bavaria was making 14 percent of Germany\'s total exports to Turkey. Meanwhile, Bavaria\'s minister Zeil said that Turkey was a locomotive country in today\'s conditions. Turkey, as a high-tech country, was successful in energy technologies, infrastructure, aviation, space studies and industry, he said. Zeil noted that they could make an important cooperation network in space industry and aviation industry with Turkey.
