Berri praises meeting between Tayyeb, Pope Francis

President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) Nabih Berri has praised the meeting which was held on Monday between Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El Tayyeb and Pope Francis of the Vatican.
In a press statement on Tuesday, Berri described the meeting as supporting inter-religious dialogue and constitutes an appropriate response to takfiri grroups.
Berri noted that the meeting was necessary to coordinate international efforts to fight terrorism and end conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa.
