Bosnia to pray for Erdogan on Friday

On initiative of students of the International University in Sarajevo (IUS) and regarding the recent developments in Turkey, after a Muslim official weekly prayer, in Sarajevo's Gazi Husrev-bey mosque on Friday will be held a collective prayer for Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his government. Students' initiative was supported by the Union of Turkish Students, students of the Gazi Husrev-bey's school in Sarajevo, Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina and numerous individuals. Musa Kose, one of the organizers, told the Anadolu Agency that attempts to weaken Turkey have started by a protest in Gezi park in May 2013 and culminated in the end of December. That is why Turkish students in cooperation with their Bosnian colleagues, decided to support premier Erdogan and respecting the will of Turkish people, said Kose, noting that Erdogan's statement "Prayers from Bosnia and Herzegovina are sufficient to us." After the Friday's noon prayer, students and citizens will gather in the mosque to pray for the Turkish government. If Islamic society in Bosnia allows, similar activities will be held in other mosques in the country, said Kose. Halil Brzina, shaikh of Naqshbandi's Islamic monastery in Sarajevo, joined this initiative and organized collective prayer of support to Turkish PM in 34 Islamic monastries in the country that will be held on Friday.
