Brahimi committed to convening of Geneva 2 conference

The spokesperson for the UN-Arab League Joint Special Representative on Syria (JSR) Lakhdar Brahimi clarified on Wednesday that while the JSR has spoken in a recent interview about logistical difficulties in the convening of the Geneva 2 conference at the announced date, he did not indicate in any way that the conference would be postponed. "Brahimi reaffirms his commitment to the convening of Geneva 2 at the announced date, which is 22 January 2014. "He, his team and the United Nations will work hard to overcome all obstacles," according to the spokesperson
