Brazilian authorities are preparing an anti-riot force with more than 10,000 officers of the National Security Force that is to support police in the 12 World Cup host cities if violent protests take place there during the tournament, dpa reported. The news website G1 reported Friday, citing security officials, that this special force has been in training since 2011, although it straining was stepped up after the wave of protests that shook Brazil during the Confederations Cup last June. "For the World Cup, we are training 10,000 men on how to act during clashes, and we are in a position to act over the 12 host cities at the same time," Colonel Alexandre Augusto Aragon, the head of the National Security Force, was quoted as saying.
