Visiting British Defense Minister Michael Fallon reiterated deeply-rooted relations binding Britain with Oman, saying they are historic relations that cover all fields.
Fallon, at a press conference here with Omani Defense Minister Badr ben Saoud on Thursday, lauded efforts by Sultan Qabos in addressing many issues in the region and bringing about world peace, especially as regards the nuclear file and the conflicts in Syria, Yemen and Libya.
He lauded Oman's efforts to diversify its economy after the sharp decline of oil barrel price.
As for Libya, he said the British government does not want to interfere militarily in Libya and this stance is compatible with the other European countries.
He denied that major powers have agreed with Russia as regards the Syrian file, saying Britain only supports the positive Russian role in pushing forward talks between the Syrian government and opposition.
