Islamabad - XINHUA

British Foreign Secretary William Hague arrived in Wednesday for a two-day visit to discuss bilateral and regional issues, with anti-terror cooperation and Afghanistan high on the agenda, Pakistani state media reported. The British Secretary of State will hold official talks with the Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz. Radio Pakistan reported that the post-withdrawal Afghanistan scenario, engagements with Taliban and other militant groups, and measures to curb terrorism in the region will be discussed. Afghanistan will be one of the important issues to be discussed during Hague\'s visit. Britain and Pakistan have drawn a six-month program to promote reconciliation in Afghanistan in a trilateral summit in London in February, which was also attended by Afghan President Hamid Karzai. Hague arrived in Pakistan just two weeks after British Prime Minister David Cameron\'s visit to country. Cameron had promised Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during his visit that Britain will \"stand together\" with Pakistan in the fight against terrorism. The British prime minister had also urged Pakistan to co- operate in creating a stable Afghanistan, as a prosperous, peaceful and democratic Afghanistan is in Pakistan\'s interest. Nawaz Sharif had assured Cameron that Pakistan will work together with President Karzai and Britain towards peace in Afghanistan.
