An 18-day joint drill involving Bulgarian and US naval special operations forces will start on Wednesday in Bulgaria's Black Sea area, the Bulgarian Navy said in a statement on Tuesday.
Two C-130 Hercules aircraft, two high-speed combat boats and 70 members of the U.S. Navy special operations forces will participate from the U.S. side, the statement said.
They will be joined by a total of nine Bulgarian ships and speedboats, two navy helicopters AS 565MB Panther and 30 members of the country's naval special forces.
Bulgaria signed a defense cooperation agreement with the United States in 2006, and last year the two sides conducted 82 joint military trainings and drills.
