Cabinet authorized on Tuesday Aden governor and local authority in coordination with concerned bodies to begin actions to carry out power, water, sanitation and health projects in Aden governorate. Chaired by Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa, the cabinet approved, in its weekly meeting, the outcomes of the ministerial committee studying a report on Aden government\'s required projects in service fields. It agreed to authorize the Aden local authority and the branch of electricity general corporation to negotiate with international companies to provide 200 MW to meet the growing demand in summer season. In water sector, the cabinet charged Aden governor in coordination with defense and water ministers and Abyan governor with making the required security and technical measures to resume pumping water from Abyan wells to Aden. It also obligated the local authority to quickly begin digging the ten water wells approved previously. It also agreed to allocate YR 200 million for the local corporation for water and sanitation in Aden to finance the maintenance of sanitation network. Moreover, the cabinet Health Minister to provide a skilled cadre to operate the 22 May Hospital in Aden and prepare and submit the Hospital\'s operational budget to the finance ministry for discussion and approval. It ordered the finance ministry to endorse the allocations required to conduct 5,000 dialysis sessions in the Al Gomhuriah Hospital Authority and to be increased in 2013 up to 18,000 sessions. The cabinet underlined the importance of the Aden local authority to double efforts to fulfill its obligations and carry out its responsibilities perfectly.
