The regular meeting of the Council of Ministers, headed by the President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al Bashir, Thursday reviewed a report on the recent round of negotiations held with the delegation of South Sudan State in Addis Ababa, presented by the Defense Minister, Gen Abdul-Raheem Mohamed Hussien. The spokesman of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Omer Mohamed Salih, explained in a press statement that the report tackled an agreement for the implementation of the withdrawal from the demilitarized zones till March 23, in addition to the formation of a joint monitoring mechanism for the complaints, especially those concerning support and harboring to armed movements in and outside the demilitarized zones, a matter which obviously means disengagement between the SPLM Ninth and Tenth Divisions and South Sudan State. Dr. Salih said that the cabinet has considered the agreement an important one for the implementation of the cooperation agreements between the two countries since Sudan has continuously asserted the necessity of the implementation of the security arrangements.
