At least 11 people were killed Sunday after a speedy car collided with a two-wheeler and then rammed into a truck in southern Indian state of Andhra Pardesh, officials said.
The accident took place at Kagita village in Nakkapalli mandal of Visakhapatnam district, about 617 km east of Hyderabad city, the capital of Andhra Pradesh.
"Today 11 people were killed in a road accident here in Visakhapatnam," an official told Xinhua over telephone. "The accident took place when a car and a two-wheeler collided and then rammed into a truck. The victims include nine people travelling in the car and two on the scooter."
Police officials rushed to the spot and removed bodies from the mangled vehicle on the road.
Deadly road accidents are common in India often caused due to overloading, bad condition of roads and reckless driving.
Global Road Safety Report - 2015 released by WHO last year said India accounts for more than 200,000 deaths annually due to road accidents.
