
Secretary General of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD), Ibrahim Sani Abani on Friday sent a letter of thanks to Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief and Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhi.
Addressing the closing Session of the CEN-SAD's fifth conference in Sharm el Sheikh, Abani hailed Sisi over the warm reception.
The fifth conference of the defense ministers from Community of Sahel-Saharan States concluded here on Friday with the participation of defense ministers and heads of delegations of 27 African countries along with a host of countries and international organizations, which are attending as an observer.
The Community of Sahel-Saharan States was created in 1998 and currently consists of 27 African countries including Egypt, Libya, Sudan, Chad, Tunisia and Togo.
Originally created for economic unity, the organization has expanded to prioritize military matters.
