Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), HE Maj.Gen. The Qatari leadership paid a close attention that the Qatari Armed Forces are constantly equipped with the latest technologies and military equipment, which offer a quantum leap in terms of efficiency, said Maj.Gen Al Attiyah. Thanks for Their Highness patronage, the Qatari soldier has become one of the most effective military of world in terms of performance, discipline, and commitment to honor, he continued. On the national armament strategy, HE Maj.Gen. Al Attiyah said we always rely on the friendly countries to which the State of Qatar is allied by mutual defense treaties. He praised the achievements made by Libyan rebels, expressing hope that the next phase would witness the establishment of a new political system that could realize the Libyan people\'\'s aspirations for freedom, democracy and decent life. He expressed hope for the formation of a new Libyan government, calling on the Libyan people to show solidarity and patience at this crucial moment in Libyan history. On his recent visit to Libya, HE Maj.Gen. Al Attiyah said during this visit, which came on assignment of HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al -Thani and HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, we discussed with the Libyan officials the latest developments, means of promoting mutual ties between the two countries and means of supporting the brotherly Libyan people. Qatar provides the Libyan revolution with political, material and logistical support, he said. At the level of military cooperation, HE Al Attiyah explained that we are there upon consent of Libya\'\'s National Transitional Council (NTC) to offer military training programs for the rebels. Our military delegation is playing the role of intermediary between the rebels and the relevant international bodies, said Al-Attiyah. About the Qatari mediation to settle the Djiboutian–Eritrean border conflict, which has been widely welcomed by the international community, HE the Chief of Staff said this mission came in the framework of Qatar\'\'s diplomatic role sponsored by HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al -Thani meant to prevent disputes and conflicts from arising between neighboring States that could potentially pose a threat to regional peace and stability. There is a breakthrough on bilateral ties between Djibouti and Eritrea, which comes after the intensive efforts being exerted by the State of Qatar, he continued. As part of our diplomatic mission to establish peace there, a high military delegation is being deployed on the Djibouti-Eritrean border, the Chief of Staff concluded.
