Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has denounced remarks by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe that defended last month's tribute to a controversial war shrine, saying the visit to the Yasukuni shrine exposed Abe's "erroneous view of history." Wang made the remarks on Thursday, while attending an international conference on the Syrian issue in Switzerland. Abe defended his much-criticized visit to the shrine at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday, indicating he may continue to pay homage there. "Abe's excuse only proves that he is still stubbornly sticking to an erroneous view of history," Wang said, according to a statement posted on the Chinese foreign ministry's website.
