The Chinese authorities has removed a head of counterfeit "Sphinx", which was built three years ago in the city of Shijiazhuang, Hebei province.
The move came as a step to completely remove Sphinx body in response to pressures exercised by the Egyptian authorities, Shanghai Daily newspaper reported.
Egypt protested that China's 'Sphinx' does not accurately replicate the original and easy for the audience to create an erroneous impression of Egyptian Antiquities.
