A spokesperson for the Civic Platform Party dismissed on Monday reports saying its leader, billionaire-turned-politician Mikhail Prokhorov, was planning to quit the party leadership. “These are unclear sources. We don’t comment on information spun out of thin air,” Tatyana Kosobokova said. According to the spokesperson, “the work connected with the upcoming elections continues in the party”. “For the next few months Prokhorov scheduled a host of events,” she added. The Izvestia daily reported on Monday referring to sources close to the business tycoon that Mikhail Prokhorov had decided to finish an active political carrier, not to run for elective offices and quit the leadership of Civil Platform.
