Clashes in central African Republic

United Nations (UN) will relocate some of its personnel in the Central African Republic to Cameroon. Martin Nesirky, spokesperson for the Secretary-General, told journalists on Tuesday that the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) stated the looting in the capital city by the rebels also affected a children hospital. Nesirky said, a hugh number of people were injured in fights in the capital and a large number of people applied to hospitals. Nesirky added, the medical equipment which was delivered by the UN was not enough. Nesirky noted, the number of UN personnel in the Central African Republic would be reduced and the operation would continue with a team of 40 people. The Seleka rebel coalition previously entered capital Bangui, captured the Presidency and immediately afterwards, President Francois Bozize fled the country.
