The 7th Abu Dhabi Awards ceremony will take place on 30th of January, and will be broadcast live on Abu Dhabi Al Emarat television channel, the Abu Dhabi Awards Organising Committee confirmed today. Held under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E. Armed Forces, the seventh Abu Dhabi Awards ceremony will recognise the 2013 recipients amongst senior representatives from the Government and the community across Abu Dhabi. Regardless of age, nationality or gender, the recipients are individuals whose good deeds have contributed to supporting and benefiting the Emirate of Abu Dhabi's community. This includes Abu Dhabi citizens, residents and non-residents, as well as Abu Dhabi citizens performing good deeds internationally. The Award recipients are selected based on their deeds and actions, not by the number of nominations received, according to Abu Dhabi Awards. A spokesperson for the organising committee said, "The nominations we received for Abu Dhabi Awards this year were from all parts of society and there were some truly incredible stories about people contributing to the Emirate. "In this 2013 Abu Dhabi Awards campaign, almost 30,000 nominations were made. A new record was set in the form of 117 different nationalities taking part and there were also record numbers of young people and women participating in the nomination process."
