U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said Sunday President Barack Obama should apologize to Americans in this week's State of the Union speech. In an appearance on CBS's "Face the Nation," Cruz said healthcare reform and other Obama policies had been abject failures, and the president should use the nationally televised address to apologize to the American people. "If President Obama wants to give an honest, candid State of the Union address this week, he'll address the fact that his economic policies are not working and that they're exacerbating income inequality," said Cruz. "They are hurting the people who are struggling the most." Cruz said Obama has on occasion expressed regret form mistakes but he said the president was insincere. "The pattern we have seen over and over again with this president is he says he's sorry and he expresses outrage but then he doesn't fix the problem," said Cruz.
