"Future" bloc member Deputy Khaled Daher said in a press conference at his Tripoli residence that former Prime Minister Saad Hariri's initiative would enhance Lebanon's role in the region and the world. "Hariri is a statesman keen on the nation and its citizens, he proposed the electoral bill for the interest of the country," the MP stressed. He criticized other factions' proposed bills, adding that their drafts would isolate citizens from each other and Lebanon would lose its vital role. On the other hand, the MP said that "Hariri addressed the issue of civil marriage hastily and did not take the appropriate position though he rejected it for him and his children." He added that he hope that Hariri would take a clear position based on a thorough study which would not be opposed to Islam, law and society's interest through studying this issue in all its aspects with theologians specialists and legal specialists away from the manner that civil marriage was raised. "Civil marriage was raised in a way to occupy the public opinion and keep them away from political, security economic and social problems that would almost cause the country to collapse and ruin," the MP concluded.
